Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs all school fee payments, admission fees, transport charges, and related financial transactions at J.M Public School . By enrolling a student or making payments, parents and guardians agree to comply with this Policy.

Interpretation and Definitions

Interpretation

Headings are for convenience only and do not affect legal meaning.

Definitions

School / Company – Refers to J.M Public School, P S Rabindranagar, Santoshpur, Kolkata 700066.

Student – A child enrolled or applying for admission at the School.

Parent / Guardian – Legal guardian responsible for the Student.

Fees – Tuition, admission, transport, activity, or other institutional charges.

Refund – Return of paid fees, subject to conditions outlined below.

Cancellation – Withdrawal of admission or discontinuation of enrollment.

Academic Year – The School’s official academic session period.

General Refund Policy

  • Admission fees and registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
  • Tuition fees once paid are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances at the School’s discretion.
  • Refund eligibility depends on timing, payment category, and School approval.
  • No refunds shall be granted for partial attendance or unused academic periods.

Withdrawal & Cancellation of Admission

Before Academic Session Begins

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing.
  • Tuition fees may be refunded after deduction of administrative charges, if approved.
  • Admission and registration fees remain non-refundable.

After Academic Session Begins

  • No refunds will be issued once classes have commenced.
  • Withdrawal during the academic year does not entitle parents to a fee refund.

Transport Fee Policy (If Applicable)

  • Transport fees are payable on a term or annual basis.
  • Refunds may be considered only if transport service is cancelled before the term begins.
  • No refunds for mid-term discontinuation of transport services.

Late Payments & Fee Default

  • Late fee payments may attract penalties as per School policy.
  • Repeated non-payment may result in:
    • Suspension of academic services
    • Withholding of results or certificates
    • Temporary or permanent cancellation of enrollment

Exceptional Refund Requests

Refunds may be considered in rare cases such as:

  • Verified medical emergencies
  • Family relocation outside the city
  • Serious unforeseen circumstances

All exceptional refunds require:

  • Written request
  • Supporting documents
  • Formal approval from School management

Approval is at the sole discretion of the School.

Service Dissatisfaction Policy

  • Academic dissatisfaction does not guarantee refunds.
  • Complaints will be reviewed, and solutions may include academic support or counseling.
  • No cash refunds will be issued based on academic performance or expectations.

Payment Mode and Processing Timeline

  • Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method only.
  • Refund processing may take 15–30 working days depending on bank timelines.
  • Administrative deductions may apply.

Non-Refundable Items

Refunds will not be provided for:

  • Admission / Registration fees
  • Uniforms, books, or stationery purchases
  • Activity fees already utilized
  • Exam or evaluation fees
  • Discounted or promotional fee structures
  • Fees for partially completed academic terms

Disciplinary & Policy-Based Cancellations

If enrollment is terminated due to:

  • Misconduct
  • Serious disciplinary violations
  • Legal or policy breaches

No refunds will be granted under such circumstances.

Jurisdiction

All financial or refund-related disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of Kolkata courts, in accordance with Indian laws and CBSE regulations.
